What makes our chocolate so unique? Our ingredients and pioneering techniques ensure that Ruben’s offers a luxury, lactose-free chocolate. Ruben’s uses 39% cocoa from ethically sourced cocoa beans and vanilla from a cooperative in Mexico. We add Alpine Swiss whole milk, meaning the creamy taste is fundamental to the texture of the chocolate. Our innovative spirit has allowed us to develop a special technique to break the milk sugar into its components: galactose and glucose. Despite sounding complicated, it’s actually quite simple. Instead of extracting the lactose, we break it down, all the while preserving the natural sweetness of the milk. Now, even lactose intolerant chocolate lovers can enjoy the chocolate.
